Types of Blood & Lymphatic Cancers We Treat

Blood and lymphatic cancers occur when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably within the blood, bone marrow or lymphatic system. These cancers can affect the body’s ability to fight infection and produce healthy blood cells. While complex, many blood and lymphatic cancers are highly treatable, especially when diagnosed early.

We treat the following forms of blood and lymphatic cancer:

Leukemia

A cancer of the blood-forming tissues, such as the bone marrow and lymphatic system. It leads to the overproduction of abnormal white blood cells, which can interfere with the body’s ability to fight infection. We provide care for both acute and chronic forms of leukemia.

Lymphoma

A cancer that starts in the lymphatic system, which is a key part of the immune system. It includes two main types: Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Both of these forms affect the body’s ability to fight infections and filter harmful substances.

Multiple myeloma

A cancer of plasma cells, a type of white blood cell responsible for producing antibodies. It usually begins in the bone marrow and can lead to damage in the bones, kidneys and other organs.

Symptoms and Treatment Options

Many blood and lymphatic cancer symptoms resemble those of common, less serious conditions, so experiencing any of these doesn’t necessarily mean you have cancer. However, if you notice any persistent changes in your body that last more than a few weeks, it’s important to consult a healthcare provider for a professional evaluation.
