Collaborative Brain & Spine Tumor Treatment

Our specialists collaborate across disciplines to ensure the best outcome possible for each of our patients. From the moment a tumor is suspected, our brain and spine team works together to develop a precise treatment plan that may include:

Advanced imaging (MRI, CT, functional brain mapping)

Minimally invasive or traditional neurosurgery

Precision radiation therapy and chemotherapy

Spine assessments for spinal cord involvement

Supportive services such as pain management and rehabilitation

Whether your tumor is benign or malignant, primary or metastatic, Southcoast’s brain and spine team will work together to create a comprehensive treatment plan, including the least invasive care possible for your situation.

Conditions We Treat

We treat a wide range of brain and spine tumors, with each care plan tailored to the type, location and behavior of the tumor. The conditions we treat include:

  • Glioblastoma
  • Meningioma
  • Oligodendroglioma
  • Astrocytoma
  • Pituitary tumors
  • Metastatic brain and spine tumors
  • Spinal cord tumors

Advanced Treatment Options

Stereotactic Radiosurgery

This non-surgical, high-precision radiation technique treats brain tumors while sparing healthy tissue. 3-D imaging guides focused beams to target tumors with accuracy.

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)

Used to treat tumors in the lung, liver, spine, and bones. SBRT provides high-dose, pinpointed radiation in fewer sessions with fewer side effects.

Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery

When appropriate, our surgeons use smaller incisions and advanced tools to reduce recovery time and preserve brain function.
