Radioligand Therapy (RLT) – Side Effects
Like all cancer treatments, Pluvicto® can cause side effects. Most are manageable, and your care team will monitor you closely throughout. Below is a summary of what patients commonly experience.
What to Watch For
– Fatigue and tiredness
– Dry mouth
– Nausea and decreased appetite
– Low blood cell counts (CBC monitored regularly)
– Joint or bone pain
– Constipation
– Back pain
Low blood cell counts:Tiredness, pale skin, shortness of breath, easy bruising or bleeding, frequent infections
Kidney problems:Stay well hydrated; report new urinary symptoms promptly
Reproductive risk:Pluvicto may harm an unborn baby and may cause temporary or permanent infertility. Use effective contraception for 14 weeks after the last dose.
– Fever or chills (may signal low white cell count)
– Unusual bruising or bleeding
– New or worsening urinary symptoms
– Changes in kidney function (lab based)
– Significant unintentional weight loss
– New or worsening bone pain
– Fever above 100.4°F with signs of infection
– Severe shortness of breath
– Symptoms of severe anemia (extreme weakness, pallor)
– Chest pain
Blood Work Schedule
Your blood counts and kidney function are checked before every cycle. If your counts fall below certain thresholds, your next infusion may be delayed to allow recovery:
ANC below 1.0 — cycle delay recommended
Platelets below 75 — cycle delay recommended
Hemoglobin below 8 — dose modification considered
